Stanley E. Williamson Memorial Scholarship in Science & Mathematics Education
History of the Award:
Family and friends of Stan Williamson, the first Chair of the Department of Science and Mathematics Education, have made contributions to commemorate his life. The fund provides scholarships for students pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in the Department of Science and Mathematics Education.
Eligibility Criteria:
Full-time graduate students pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in the Department of Science and Mathematics Education. Selection criteria will include students whom:- Are teachers whose focus is on teaching science/math in elementary, middle or high school;
- Demonstrate leadership capabilities;
- Demonstrate potential to impact science/mathematics education statewide, regionally, nationally or internationally;
- Demonstrate potential, enthusiasm and commitment for quality mathematics/science teaching;
- Demonstrate commitment to students in their pursuit of science/mathematics education.
Award Amount:
To be determined by the scholarship committee.
Selection:
Selection of recipients will be coordinated by the Department of Science and Mathematics Education Scholarship Committee.
