CAISE: Center for the Advancment of Informal Science Education
A new Center for the Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) has been established in Washington, D.C., with the support of a five-year, $5,000,000 award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The Science and Mathematics Education Department is one of four major partners involved with the effort. Dr. John H. PrISM: Preparation for Instruction of Science and Math
A statewide collaboration of public and private colleges and universities to build the capacity of Oregon’s K-8 teachers in math & science instruction.
Math and Science Education faculty at Eastern Oregon University, George Fox University, Lewis & Clark College, Oregon State University, University of Portland, and Western Oregon University are working together to develop graduate-level courses and professional development modules that will be available in various online and face-to-face formats. COSEE: Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence
COSEE-Pacific Partnerships is a regional Center in the COSEE Network based at marine laboratories in Oregon, Washington, California, & Hawai'i. Our goal is to integrate research & education for community colleges & informal science education professionals & volunteers. COSEE-Pacific Partnerships host workshops for scientists to become better communicators, creates partnerships for outreach and educaton between scientists, community colleges and informal science education sites, and carries out long term education in ocean sciences and communication for volunteers and staff at informal education sites.
